Together for Carers

On Wednesday, January 24th, 2018, local carers were joined by a range of organisations that commission or provide carers' support services within the Frimley Health and Care Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP).

'Together for Carers' brought together representatives of carers groups, primary care, community and mental health services, acute hospitals, social care, voluntary and community organisations.

Around 80 people were involved in the event, at Ash Youth and Community Centre.

The Frimley Health & Care STP consists of over 30 statutory organisations across health and care who are working together to transform the way health and care is delivered in order to help people remain as healthy, active, independent and happy as possible.

Together for Carers aimed to bring interested parties together to promote a whole family approach to supporting adults and young carers within the STP programme and to include the carer community in influencing and shaping the work being done across the STP.

There were speakers from Carers UK, setting the scene about the national carers' picture, and NHS England, to promote awareness about a national shared commitment towards a joint approach to identifying and assessing carer health and wellbeing.
